Have your children ever used obscene words? How to react to this? Most psychologists are recommending to pretend that nothing happened (it is for children up to 3-4 years). And what do you do in such cases?

Your question reminded me of a little boy I knew that had trouble pronouncing his t's...they came out as f's. He was into fire trucks and every time he saw one he would yell something that sounded incredibly obscene.
Anyways, I think it depends on the age of the child... When our son was 6 he picked up some choice words at school. We just explained that some words were not appropriate to use. However had he started using them earlier I think we would have ignored it. I figure at 3 or 4 they are trying out all sorts of language... if they see it has no impact then they will move on.

I agree with Cheryl-Lynn - children are waiting for our reaction, especially when they are not in school yet. So, if we don't pay attention to these words, they will not use it.
Our 3 year old talks a lot and taking into account his specific pronunciation some part of what he says should not be mentioned in public places

Recently I was going by tram to my university and near from me a little boy and his father (3 or 4 years old) were sitting. A kid was smiling, laughing, but suddenly his father somehow has hurted him and next minute..all the tram was "taking pleasure" from the shower of abuses. This kid was swearing like a truckdriver, it was awful(

The lady that lived next to me when I had a 2 & 6 yo swore like I never heard. Every morning we could hear her yelling profanities. One day when I was returning from the grocery store, my 2 yo got out of the car, when she saw the lady next door she went running yelling F....Y, F....Y. The lady said, "Do you hear what she is saying?" I said yes, she hears it every morning through the wall! I never heard her swear again. Funny now, 18 years latter!
We taught my 2 yo to say firetruck instead of the colorful language above!!

my child use to say profanities but instead when she say those words we often tell her that god is watching over and that he may not like it or your angel becomes sad..and when she hears that she would ask "is it wrong mom?" and we answer "yes" then she wouldn't say those word because she would say that she wants her angel besides her everyday.
