I agree with victor. Toddlers in most cases are not suffer too much even from the death of the grandmother (I know a few examples), because they have not yet completly understood many things. So, news of their adoption, they're be able to bear quite easily.

Maybe it would be even better to make child know about it from the very beginning? For the newborn it will mean nothing, then toddler will already get acquainted to it and would consider it normal part of his life. I know two families with adopted children and in both children knowing they are adopted continue calling their parents "mom" and "dad" because of respect and love they feel to them. What do you think?

Should parents say their children the truth about their adoption? In what age?
I think, the child have to know it because in some way in future he might find out that he was adopted and that will be horrible news for him. Maybe the most right time would be 8-10 years ( he already understands smth but he is under control yet)
But on the other hand, the child will get a huge emotional trauma...
